BRONZE WAISTCOAT REPORTS - 2007/8 WEBB WINS BRONZE IN FALMOUTH 10th February 2008 In the group stages Steven Hull went undefeated to win group A followed closely by Campbell who pipped Adam Lawson on frame count back. Josh Byrd did the same to finish ahead of Harry Pledger. Group B saw Zac Lawson in great form scoring heavily in all his matches and making the break of the day (27). The second qualifying place went to Morgan. Callum Archer, John Campbell & Jack Vivian fought out the lower placings for valuable ranking points. Watson easily won group C with Eddy in second place. Charlie Martin finished a creditable third and Tamara Williams failed to qualify but demonstrated to the boys that they won't be having it all their own way in future tournaments, having won one match and got close to wining in the others. Louis Bamford also promised much for the future. In the final group D Leakey and Webb qualified with James Taylor, Jack Pledger & Jack Stevens close behind. Club Proprietor and Tournament Director Paul Williams gave thanks to the support from the WEBSF officials and went on to say "This is an excellent tournament for our young players to enter. If they perform well they will be rewarded with places in the regional finals which is due to be held later in May this year. Here they will have the opportunity to show that snooker is still very much alive in Cornwall and hold up the tradition of good Cornish players".
