BRONZE WAISTCOAT REPORTS - 2007/8

Falmouth Bronze Waistcoat Tour - Event 5

PLEDGER PLUNDERS ALL

13th April 2008
Jack Pledger gained in confidence throughout the tournament after beating hot favourite Daniel Watson in the group stages as he went on to win his first WESBF Bronze Waistcoat Tournament. In the final Pledger beat ever consistent Zac Lawson. Another good run was had be Charlie Campbell who also beat Watson in the quarters before he ran out of steam against Pledger in the semi finals. Watson, not to go unnoticed made the best break of the day a 32 in the early rounds to head up the 'Breakmaster' table. Lawson beat Josh Byrd and Phil Morgan in the Quarter and Semi finals. James Eddy also did well to reach the quarter finals.

Group A was won by Campbell who went undefeated followed closely by Adam Lawson and Harry Pledger. In group B Watson took first place by virtue of taking frames in the matches he lost. After a shaky start where Jack Pledger lost 2-0 to George Leakey, Pledger won all his matches to finish second, third place went to Leakey. Eddy dominated group C followed by Morgan and Jonny Brentow. The final group D saw three players level in first spot before frame count back separated them. Zac Lawson took first spot with Byrd in second and Steven Hull in third place.

The movers in the ranking points table where Leakey up 4 places from 7th to 3rd Hull from 9th to 4th. Watson still heads the table and extends his lead to 860 points and is still the player to beat.
