BRONZE WAISTCOAT REPORTS - 2007/8

Redruth Bronze Waistcoat Tour - Event 1

TOP BREAK FOR STEWART

25th November 2007
The first WEBSF Bronze Waistcoat of the season was held at Redruth Royal British Legion and was won by the reigning Regional Bronze Waistcoat Champion Jake Stewart. Stewart breezed through group A with wins over Jamie Edwards and 10 years old newcomer Brett Broad, who only lost by ten points to the champion. Stewart completed the clean sweep by beating Jamie Edwards.

Group B saw Alexander Wills win both his matches against Aiden Johns, aided with a 20 break, and another new boy Wayne Pellow also just ten years old. In the semi finals Stewart beat Johns and Edwards beat Wills. The final produced a magical break from Stewart; After Stewart went in-off from the break Wills made a swift 24 break to take a 28-0 lead. Stewart came to the table and duly compiled an excellent 77 break missing the green with an excellent chance of a possible 102 clearance in the offering. Stewart has improved considerably since last season which is testimony to hard work and the skills of his coach, Cornish County Champion Steve Downing. Wills beat Johns in the 3rd and 4th place play off and Broad beat Pellow in the plate final. Well done to all players who took part and we look forward to our next Bronze Waistcoat tournament on Sunday 16th December.
