once again, recognised by the educational establishment. This time Cardiff University are supporting Mark in the form of a bursary.
We are all to aware of the difficulties associated with finding sponsorship to finance travelling costs and tournament fees, this will go
some way to helping Mark compete at national level around the country. This is is also good news for others wanting to continue with their
academic studies and still realise their potential on the greeen baize. Well done Mark. |

Mark Green has been recognise as one of seven Ambassadors of Sport that are to receive bursaries in the form of financial sponsorship. In a letter from Mr M.J. Hole - Director of Sport at Bishop Wordsworth's School, Salisbury. Mark was given due praise for his talent and dedication to snooker and it is hoped that the bursary will give Mark the incentive to continue to develop his skills. The bursaries have been donated by local Salisbury Company Assisi Travel who do a lot for local schools in the area and will be keeping an eye on Mark's progress over the coming year. The school has been quite adventurous in picking Mark as usually more traditional sports for a boys' Grammar School such as Rugby, Football, Swimming, athletics etc. are the sports most likely to benefit from such awards. The WEBSF Management Team congratulate Mark and acknowledge this decision as a positive step towards realising Snooker as a serious sporting activity with potential career opportunities. Mark is a regular at the WEBSF Gold and Silver Waistcoat Tournaments, travelling from Salisbury to Plymouth in order to compete against quality opposition. Well done Mark! |
